MU19: Raiba Foxes Bruck vs. Baden Black Jacks 55 : 88 (26:40)

Based on the results of recent rounds, the Bruck Foxes were hoping to secure their first win of the season against the guests from Baden.

The Foxes started the game very focused, quickly found their rhythm, and a very balanced match developed. During this phase, the transition from defense to offense worked very well, and with a strong run, the hosts took a 15:10 lead. However, the guests from Baden adjusted quickly to this style of play. Thanks to solid defense and confident finishing, they not only leveled the score quickly, but Baden were even able to pull slightly ahead.

The picture did not change much in the 2nd quarter; time and again, the Black Jacks broke through the Foxes‘ defense and converted their chances into points on the board. This made the halftime score 40:26 for Baden. Although the Foxes were behind, they were confident and convinced they could close the gap in the 2nd half.

After the break, the Black Jacks had an incredible restart, suddenly hitting their long-range shots from beyond the 3-point line and steadily and fairly quickly expanding their lead. Despite attempting adjustments on defense, the home team just couldn’t manage to contain the guests‘ perimeter shooters on this Sunday, causing the deficit to grow further and further.

Visibly frustrated by the now considerable gap, the Foxes began to look unsettled. Several defensive positioning errors allowed the opponents additional easy points, effectively deciding the game early in the 3rd quarter.

The Bruck boys gave it their all in the final quarter, but unfortunately there was no stopping the Black Jacks on this day, and the game ended with a clear victory for the guests from Baden.

The Foxes take the positives from the opening phase into their next games after the autumn break; defending strong perimeter shooters is definitely something to work on.
